senior sessions

You want your senior photos to be about you–your unique style, personality, beauty, and story. And I am here to help. My approach to senior portraits is pretty simple: I want you to be yourself, I want you to enjoy yourself, and I want to help you shine. In other words, I want to capture senior photos that are genuine, just like you are.

How do I do that, you’re wondering? I love getting to know my clients, so I’ll ask you to talk about yourself–what you love to do, read, wear, listen to, you name it. The more info you give, the better–this gives me a glimpse into who you are and helps me prepare for your session. From there, we’ll plan your session together, from the kind of outfits you’ll wear to your hair and makeup ideas to the sort of location that fits your style.

About locations: if you’ve had a peek at my portfolio, you’ve noticed that my senior sessions take place outdoors. I’m a natural-light, on-location photographer. This means that rather than being limited by the four walls of a studio, the world is our canvas! Really, shooting on location is tops–there are countless options for venues and backdrops, dreamy light to flatter you, and space to move around (which means poses are unlimited, too).

And speaking of poses, I will have plenty of tips for you during your session, so no worries if you’re wondering where to put your hands or if you’re rocking the angle just right: I’ve got you covered. We’ll keep it real (no need to be a contortionist) and appropriate (because you’re in high school and your images should celebrate that) and fun (of course!).

Thanks for stopping here. I’m glad that your research on senior portraiture has brought you here and thrilled that you’re considering having me for the honor. Below you’ll find plenty of info, ranging from what a session includes to the types of products you’ll be able to purchase after your session.

  • How far in advance should I book my session?
Senior sessions occur between April 1st and November 10th (select winter dates are available as well). Plan to book your session during the spring/early summer of your junior year in order to get the date you want!
  • How long will my session last?
Senior sessions take about 90 minutes.
  • How many photos will I see?
Your gallery will contain a minimum of 25 images (40 max) from your senior session.
  • Where will my session take place?
I have several favorite locations in and around Dublin and am happy to suggest the perfect spot for your session. You may also request a location of your choice (if the site is more than 25 miles from the 43016 zip code, a $50 travel fee will be added).
  • What if the weather is bad on the day of my session?
I always have my eye on the weather on the day of a session. If rain, lightning, or high winds threaten to spoil our date, I will contact you to reschedule–but not until the day of your session, so hold tight!
  • What should I wear?
How you feel is the most important consideration to make when choosing your wardrobe. Choose items that fit well and make you feel great. Select clothing that screams “you” and don’t be bothered by current trends. Your images are meant to be timeless! If you want some inspiration, feel free to have a look at my pinterest board for seniors.
  • Do you offer professional retouching?
Yes. Every image that you will see in your order appointment has been professionally edited by yours truly. I do “clean up” blemishes, but leave more permanent features (like beauty marks, scars, and freckles) as they are. Please be aware that larger issues like bra straps showing or tan lines will not be edited out.
  • How do I place my photo order?
Roughly 2-3 weeks after your session, you’ll receive an email from me containing login information for your online gallery. You’ll be able to view all of your images online and make your purchase directly from your gallery.
