in the pink

To be honest, I have no idea what I was thinking when I bought this pink (er, salmon) backdrop paper more than a year ago. I just like pink! But it sat mostly unused, aside from a bright experiment with strobe lighting on a winter day. I’m not sure what prompted me to haul it out of the basement into my makeshift “studio” for this little shadow and light study experiment with Christie (thank for volunteering!), but I’m so pleased with the results. It’s bold and soft, fun and even a bit serene all at once. But as much as I like the look of pink, we also had to step outdoors to test another aspect of my gear (new lens)—and I am positively smitten with that soft bokeh, too!
